Our Process

After bringing your loved one into our care, we meet to understand your wishes. From there, we handle everything, keeping you informed along the way.

When the day arrives, simply come to the funeral service knowing every detail has been thoughtfully prepared for your family.

1. Meet With us
During our funeral arrangement, we gather information for Births, Deaths and Marriages, Centrelink, and Medicare, and explore your wishes for creating a meaningful funeral service. Together we'll discuss preferences for burial or cremation services, along with ways to make the funeral personal and special. To ensure smooth funeral planning, we recommend having all decision-makers present. You're welcome to meet with us at our funeral home in Canberra or our Goulburn funeral home, depending on your location.
2. After Our Meeting
Following the funeral arrangement, we’ll provide a quote based on your choices and inclusions for the funeral service. Once you’ve confirmed your preferences and approved the quote, we’ll begin organising and preparing the funeral in line with your preferences. As part of creating a meaningful funeral service, we may ask you to gather some personal elements to reflect your loved one’s life. This can include sharing memories, music, or choosing photos for the service. If you need support with any part of the funeral planning; such as writing a eulogy or organising personal touches—our team is here to guide you with care and experience.
3. Personal Care and Customisation
We care for your loved one with dignity, preparing them in a way that feels right for you and your family. A private viewing can be arranged, if you wish, we can also support you in bringing your loved one home for a number of days with use of our cool plate, for a more personal goodbye. Our experienced team of women handle everything, designing a personalised funeral service that reflects your loved one’s life. Every element is thoughtfully tailored—from memorial stationery and photo presentations to the overall style and feel of the service—creating a cohesive and meaningful farewell. We’ll keep you informed throughout the process, so everything feels clear and manageable. Our role is to handle the practical side of arranging a funeral, allowing you to focus on your family and the farewell.
4. Legal and Financial Considerations
We understand that managing paperwork and finances can feel overwhelming after the loss of a loved one, especially when you’re arranging a funeral. Our team can assist by organising and certifying documents for insurance, superannuation and estate matters, with Justice of the Peace (JP) services available by appointment. As part of the funeral planning process, we clearly explain all funeral costs upfront, so you can make informed decisions with confidence. We’ll ensure the funeral arrangements reflect your wishes while staying within your budget. Payment is required by the day of the funeral service, and we’re here to guide you through any questions about costs, funeral bonds, or available funeral payment options.
5. Day of the Service
On the day of the funeral, our caring female team arrive early to prepare the venue and ensure every detail of the service is in place. We create a calm, welcoming setting for family and friends, with music, memorial items and personal elements thoughtfully arranged. A member of our team remains close by your loved one at all times, a quiet guardian, ensuring they are cared for with dignity and respect. When you arrive, everything is ready, presented with care and attention to detail. Throughout the service, we’re there to gently guide and support you, overseeing each step so everything runs smoothly. Our focus is to deliver a polished, respectful farewell that reflects the life of your loved one and the care your family deserve.
6. Here For You After
Following the funeral service, we're here to help with practical support. We'll start by providing you with three certified copies of the Death Certificate, along with the original for your records. If you need guidance with estate matters, we can direct you to trusted solicitors. We're also here if you need someone to talk to or need support navigating your grief in the weeks and months ahead.
